Installation

Install from Chrome Web Store

Visit the Chrome Web Store and search for UniSave, or use the direct link from unisave.io.

Pin the extension

Click the puzzle icon in Chrome’s toolbar and pin UniSave for quick access.

Sign in

Click the UniSave icon and sign in with Google. Your bookmarks sync automatically across all devices.

Ways to Save

UniSave offers multiple ways to save from your browser:

Popup

Click the UniSave icon in the toolbar. The current page URL is pre-filled — just click Save.

Right-Click Menu

Right-click any link on a page and select Save to UniSave from the context menu.

Text Highlight

Select text on any page to save a bookmark with the highlighted passage as context.

Sidebar

Open the side panel for a full bookmark manager — browse, search, and organize without leaving your tab.

Side Panel

The side panel provides the full UniSave experience inside your browser:
  • Browse all saved bookmarks with enrichment status
  • Search across titles, URLs, summaries, and tags
  • Collections — filter and organize
  • Bookmark detail — view AI-generated summary, tags, and metadata
Open it by clicking the UniSave icon and selecting Open Side Panel, or via Chrome’s side panel menu.

Authentication

The Chrome extension uses chrome.identity for Google Sign-In — a secure, native Chrome API that doesn’t require entering passwords in the extension.
Apple Sign-In for the Chrome extension is supported via a secure OAuth flow using an offscreen document. Your credentials never pass through the extension’s content scripts.

Syncing

Bookmarks sync in real-time via Firestore snapshot listeners. Changes made on iOS or other devices appear instantly in the extension sidebar.
